Kind-Hearted Competitors Raise £12,000 For The Prince's Trust
DOZENS of kind-hearted competitors rolled around in foam, got soaking wet and daubed themselves with blue paint as they landed an It's A Knockout blow for charity.
They were competing in an It's A Knockout event held in Royal Sands to raise funds for the Prince's Trust, a national youth charity offering practical and financial support to youngsters. The event was organised by Avon and Somerset Constabulary, and saw competitors from the police, Marks and Spencers, DHL and North Somerset Council's foster care service dress up as smurfs and nuns to battle through a range of inflatable challenges.
The event raised more than £12,000 for the charity, and organiser PC Lee Paine said: "We had 12 teams, who all put in an amazing performance. Everyone raised loads of money through sponsorship and bucket shaking on the day, along with contributions from companies selling food, photographs and doing face painting on the day."
"We're really grateful for the tremendous support which helped us reach this fantastic total for such a worthy cause. Thank you all so much."
